Table 1 explains what each of the 8 different letters represents, E vs I, S vs N, T vs F, and J vs P.  (See the note at the bottom of table 1 if you are an X in one or more areas.)

There are four "temperaments" (NF's, NT's, SP's, and SJ's.)  Within each temperament there are four "types," for a total of 16 types, as show in the Table 2.

  Note:  The letter X is used for any area where the
individual tests exactly in the middle of a pair of
preferences.  For example, an ENXJ means that
the individual tested 50% T and 50% F, and should
